The submersible lost in the North Atlantic with five adventure tourists en route to the Titanic is serving “buried alive at sea.” At 1 pm Tuesday, there was only 40 hours of air left, per CNN. Between orcas flipping yachts, and the Titanic itself, I think the ocean has a taste for billionaires.
“Titanic” and “Coast Guard” were trending yesterday (how I get my news) while I added OAuth2 to a website. It’s terrifying (and reassuring? Nature is still Big) to think the military truly may not have means to locate private sea-pods the size of SUVs at 13k feet, or space-going aircraft. My Coast Guard wife confirmed, “If they had it, they’d be talking about it.”
