September 8, 2023, Friday—
The white moth that fluttered in front of my pallet jack a few weeks ago. I waited.
“Hurry up, guy!”
Building the pallet up to my eye level, then seeing the perfect slot for a little box— pushing it in, and hearing it fall all the way down to the pallet.
The pallet jack I got one night with the battery that rhythmically clicked like a heartbeat I could feel in the handle. It called up empathy, and a creeping existential crisis—what more is life?
